 Dear PhD Supervisor, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Faculty of Medicine invites you to a very popular course held by Dr. Gitte Wichmann-Hansen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Gitte Wichmann-Hansen<\/a> holds a Master’s in Pedagogy and a PhD in Educational Research. With over 20 years of experience in higher education teaching development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course will be focused on the delicate balance in supervision between promoting students’ autonomy and ensuring high-quality, timely completion of their work<\/strong>. Based on her research, she has developed numerous strategies and advice<\/strong> for supervisors on maintaining productive academic dialogue, ensuring project progress, and building constructive relationships with candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Form:<\/strong> The course includes interactive group work, exercises, plenary discussions, and lectures. Participants are encouraged to prepare a case study on supervision challenges to tailor the course to their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date<\/strong>: February 19-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location:<\/strong> Scandic City, Bergen<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that registration for this course is binding<\/strong>. As we have an external course instructor, a fee will be charged to your affiliated department if you register but do not attend<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, there are limited seats available (20 participants<\/strong>), so please ensure you register promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preparation:<\/strong> Delegates will receive «homework» to complete in advance of the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course Certificate:<\/strong> Participants will receive a certificate <\/strong>upon completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Language:<\/strong> The course is offered in English or Norwegian\/Danish if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
