PhD candidates at the Department of Clinical Medicine (K1) who are scheduled to complete their midway evaluation in autumn 2026 are invited to select their preferred date and time. The evaluations will be held on 17 and 19 November 2026. Candidates must also submit the names and email addresses of committee members and supervisors as part of the planning process.

Midway evaluations at K1 will take place on the following dates:
- 17 November 2026
- 19 November 2026
The following time slots are available on both days:
- 09:00–10:00
- 10:00–11:00
- 12:00–13:00
- 13:00–14:00
Candidates are asked to notify the PhD coordinator, Christina Marie Rainer Flornes, christina.flornes@uib.no, of their preferred date and time as soon as possible. Please also include the full names and email addresses of all proposed committee members and supervisors.
Candidates should consult their main supervisor before selecting a date.
What Is Required Before the Evaluation?
The midway evaluation is an important milestone in the PhD programme and provides an opportunity to assess scientific progress, discuss future plans, and identify any challenges that may affect completion of the project.
Candidates should follow the guidelines provided by K1 and ensure that all required documentation is submitted within the specified deadlines.
How the Evaluation Is Conducted
During the evaluation, the candidate presents the status of their PhD project and discusses progress with the evaluation committee. The session provides constructive feedback on the project’s scientific quality, feasibility, and planned completion.
The evaluation also allows candidates to receive advice and recommendations that can support the successful completion of their doctoral work.
Important Reminder
All candidates planning to complete their midway evaluation in autumn 2026 must register for MEK1900 in Studentweb in accordance with the applicable deadlines.
