Årets Christiekonferanse finner sted 27. april. I år åpner vi opp konferansen slik at alle kan få med seg den digitale sendingen fra Universitetsaulaen helt gratis.
Jeg håper derfor at du som er ansatt eller student ved UiB har lyst til å delta.
Christiekonferansen er en av Norges viktigste møteplasser for akademia og nærings-, kultur- og samfunnsliv. Årets Christiekonferanse er et samarbeid mellom UiB og Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH).
Tema for konferansen er Den nye økonomien.
Den «nye økonomien» fører til mange såkalte «super-star»-bedrifter. Google er i dag mye mer enn en søkemotor, og Amazon er mer enn en nettbokhandel. Kan vi se for oss at nærbutikken blir erstattet av en internasjonal superstjerne som leverer alt vi trenger på døren?
Utviklingen gir oss fantastiske muligheter, potensielt store effektivitetsgevinster, men endrer også samfunnet og gjør oss mer sårbare på en rekke områder.
Hva gjør denne utviklingen med den nordiske samfunnsmodellen? Og hvordan skal vi sikre at skattegrunnlaget for velferdsstaten ikke undergraves, og at våre personlige data beskyttes? Gjør denne utviklingen oss mer sårbare for korrupsjon og svindel?
Du møter blant annet økonomiprofessor fra MIT John van Reenen, korrupsjonsjeger Eva Joly, finansminister Jan Tore Sanner, skattedirektør Nina Schanke Funnemark og sjef i Økokrim Pål. K Lønseth.

The Christie Conference will take place on April 27th. I am pleased to invite you to the conference which will be digital, and participation is free of charge this year.
I hope you would like to attend, whether you are a student or staff at the University of Bergen.
The Christie Conference is one of Norway’s most important meeting places for academia and business, culture, and society. We invite guests and participants from business, cultural life, the public sector, and NGOs. This year’s conference is in collaboration with the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
Some of the sessions will be held in English, such as the first session with keynote speaker John van Reenen.
The theme for the Christie Conference 2021 is “The New Economy”.
The “new economy” provides us with a range of so-called “super-star” companies. Google is more than a search engine, and Amazon is more than an online bookstore. Can we imagine our neighborhood grocery store replaced by a superstar delivering everything we need to our doorsteps? Arguably, this development presents great opportunities and potential efficiency gains, but it also changes society and makes us more vulnerable in certain areas.
What consequences will this development have for the Nordic Welfare Model? How can we secure the tax revenues of the welfare state in this context, and how can we protect our personal data? Does this development make us more vulnerable to corruption and fraud?
