The Faculty of Medicine invites you to a very popular course held by Dr. Gitte Wichmann-Hansen.
Professor Gitte Wichmann-Hansen holds a Master’s in Pedagogy and a PhD in Educational Research. With over 20 years of experience in higher education teaching development.
The course will be focused on the delicate balance in supervision between promoting students’ autonomy and ensuring high-quality, timely completion of their work. Based on her research, she has developed numerous strategies and advice for supervisors on maintaining productive academic dialogue, ensuring project progress, and building constructive relationships with candidates.
Teaching Form: The course includes interactive group work, exercises, plenary discussions, and lectures. Participants are encouraged to prepare a case study on supervision challenges to tailor the course to their needs.

Location: Scandic City, Bergen
Please note that registration for this course is binding. As we have an external course instructor, a fee will be charged to your affiliated department if you register but do not attend.
Additionally, there are limited seats available (20 participants), so please ensure you register promptly.
Preparation: Delegates will receive «homework» to complete in advance of the course.
Course Certificate: Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
Language: The course is offered in English or Norwegian/Danish if possible.
