The Anders Jahre Awards for Medical Research 2025

Two prizes are awarded every year by the University of Oslo. On November 6, 2025 two medical prizes will be awarded.

  • The Anders Jahre Medical Prize for outstanding scientific activity or results within Nordic medicine. The prize amounts to NOK 1 000 000 (approximately € 84 000).
  • II. The Anders Jahre Medical Prize to young medical investigators within the Nordic countries. The candidate must be below the age of 40 by June 15, 2025. The prize amounts to NOK 400 000 (approximately € 34 000)

All professors of medicine serving in a Nordic country are invited to nominate potential awardees. The
nominations must be received before February 1, 2025.

In order to be processed each nomination should be submitted as one file accompanied by:

  • A thorough explanation of why the nominee should be considered for the prize.
  • A list of publications from the last 5 years (limited to publications with the nominee as corresponding
    author), as well as a list of up to 20 selected publications.
  • Curriculum vitae for the nominee (including contact information)

The submitted material should be in English, in pdf format and is not to exceed 3MB. Previously
submitted nominations must be submitted again, following this year’s submission format, in order to be
processed.

Letters of nominations should be sent to the secretary of the prize committee, Ingunn Rode Grorud
(i.r.grorud@medisin.uio.no).

The prize is an important recognition and incentive for active scientists. The prize committee especially
encourages nomination of female candidates for both the senior and young investigator awards
