UArctic-nettverket, som UiB er en del av, lyser ut 1 500 000 NOK til utdanningssamarbeid/virtuell mobilitet med andre universitet som deltar i nettverkets utvekslingsprogram north2north. Over 50 universiteter i Canada, USA, Russland, Danmark, Finland, Grønland, Island, Færøyene, Sverige og Norge deltar i north2north-programmet.
Man kan søke om opptil 400 000 NOK per prosjekt. Det stilles krav om egenfinansiering på minst 25 % av prosjektets totale budsjett. Prosjektet må være avsluttet innen utgangen av 2021. Prosjektene bør ha tematisk tilknytning til Nordområdene eller urfolksspørsmål, og skal motivere og forberede studenter for fysisk utveksling etter prosjektets slutt. Aktivitetene som det søkes støtte til kan være på bachelor-, master-, eller PhD-nivå.
Det gis støtte til følgende aktiviteter:
- a) Pre-mobility courses (preparing students for a physical exchange at another n2n institution after the pandemic, the students of the participating institutions carry out various tasks using zoom, email, etc. under supervision and guidance of the teachers at both sides).
- b) Blended mobility (combination of online collaboration with physical mobility, usually starting with virtual teaching, followed by virtual collaboration and task completion, short-term physical mobility in the end, preferably 1 month or longer).
- c) Course integration (a transnational virtual exchange of classes, i.e. students cooperate online to complete various tasks/assignments related to the course content under supervision of a host university’s teacher.
- d) Hybrid-model (Synchronous and asynchronous teaching, recorded lectures and joint seminars in real time).
