PhD courses

 

CCBIO905 – Methods in Cancer Biomarker Research, August 27-29.

This course has focus on the full panel of advanced and standard methods with relevance for cancer biomarkers. It is a methodological course that also includes components of ethics and economy. The thematic parts include methods ranging from basic techniques on nucleotides and proteins to more advanced approaches, as well as bioinformatics and biobanking supplemented by presentations on ethics and economics of cancer biomarkers.

The course will focus on methods to study tissue samples, blood samples, urin samples, and other biologic materials, like immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, PCR-techniques and sequencing, Western blot and ELISA, microarray methods, proteomics, circulating tumor cells and DNA, flow cytometry, bioinformatics and biobanks. Changes in nucleic acids and proteins in different settings will be covered.

Open for all:
The course is open for all interested researchers, postdocs, students and staff. Feel free to pass this invitation on to others you think might find it interesting. There is no course fee. Only in case of fully booked will CCBIO-affiliated students have priority.

The course is intended for PhD candidates and Post doctors with little or no experience as teachers.

The course will prepare the candidates for teaching, assessing and supervising students at bachelor- and master level within the health sciences. The objective of the course includes increasing the candidates understanding of how students learn and how to facilitate learning processes.
